Test dynamic product feed logic

Updated over a week ago

The Test Product Feed tool available on both the mobile and desktop preview URL for all Experiences by Jebbit that have a Product Feed assigned. This feature allows you to gain a better understanding of how the logic in your quiz functions and ensures that you are seeing your intended product recommendations. By using the Test Product Feed, you can analyze how products are being filtered throughout the experience.

Before you begin

Ensure that your quiz or experience has a Product Feed assigned to it. The Test Product Feed icon will only appear on the mobile and desktop preview for experiences leveraging a Product Feed.

Accessing the Test Product Feed

  • Navigate to the mobile or desktop preview URL of your quiz or experience.

  • Locate the Test Product Feed icon in the top-right corner of the preview.

  • Click on the Test Product Feed icon to open Test Feed Results. You can also interact with the quiz with the tester closed and open it at any point.

Analyzing Campaign Data

  • The Campaign Data section displays metadata related to your experience. Click on Campaign Data to view these details.

  • This includes information such as the number of available product slots, the logic type (e.g., Exact Match), and whether you have categories. This provides context about your experience when reviewing the results.

Using Diagnostic Tools as You Click Through the Experience

  • As you proceed through the quiz, screens that have fields from the Product Feed mapped to questions will be displayed in the tester.

  • For each of these screens, you will see the Screen Name, the Response(s) you selected, and the number of remaining products that match your selections. The total number of products in the feed will also be visible.

  • You can expand each question to view the Fields Name from the Product Feed that are mapped to that screen and the value(s) assigned to your response. This helps you verify if the correct values were selected in the mapping.

  • The tester also indicates whether the logic across screens is using AND or OR operators, providing insight into how the filtering is occurring.

Understanding Fallback Logic

  • If the experience reaches a point where there are no products left based on your selections, the tester will indicate that it has entered Fallback Logic mode.

  • In Fallback Logic, lower-prioritized columns from the Product Feed are removed to display additional products. The removed fields will be noted in the tester. Remember that the Fallback Logic is configured within the Logic section of the Product Feed menu.

Viewing and Exporting Results

  • At the bottom of the tester, you can see the number of products remaining out of the total in the feed.

  • Up to 20 results are displayed at a time in the interface.

  • To see all the results, click Export. The exported file will contain the product information visible to the end user and all the mapped fields from the feed up to that point in the experience.

  • You can click on any of the individual products listed in the results to view a preview of that product and the specific fields and values associated with it. This allows you to verify if the displayed products align with your expectations based on your responses.

Next Steps

  • Review the information in the Test Product Feed as you interact with your quiz to ensure the product filtering logic is working as expected.

  • If the results do not align with your expectations, use the diagnostic information to identify potential issues with the mapping of fields and values in your Product Feed.

  • Consider exporting the results to analyze the complete set of matching products and their associated data.

  • If discrepancies are found, revisit the Product Feed Logic configuration to review and adjust the filtering rules and fallback logic. You may also need to update the values within your Product Feed itself.
