Hotspots are interactive elements that you can add to your experience to add a level of depth and dimension. Allow users to shop for a product or click to learn more within your experience.
Adding a hotspot
Follow these steps to add a hotspot to an image:
In the Builder, navigate to the desired screen.
Click on any image element within your experience.
With your image element selected, check the Add Hotspot to image checkbox in the left-hand menu. This adds a hotspot to your image.
Hotspots can be added only to images and not image buttons.
Customizing a hotspot
Customize the hotspot's appearance and behavior to fit your experience. You control the following options, typically found in the left-hand menu:
Name: Give your hotspot a name. This name is important for reporting later.
Style: Set your hotspot to Attached or Overlay Modal.
Attached: Provides a blurb of text or information about the object the hotspot is situated on. You edit the text within the Attached bubble right from the screen. Attached hotspots can be clicked on and create another pathway off the screen, acting like a button that drives someone to a webpage, starts them down a new path, or does nothing at all.
Modal: Opens a modal that you can style.
Dot Appearance: Change the color of the hotspot dot. You can also add a question mark to the dot or opt for the dot to pulsate for a visual pop.
Position: Make sure you position your hotspot on both the Mobile and Desktop view of the screen. Toggle back and forth between 'Mobile' and 'Desktop' options on the left-hand menu, ensure the hotspot is placed appropriately, and save.
Analyzing hotspot performance
You can access analytics for your hotspot engagements along with other Question Analytics Data in the Analytics section within Jebbit.
You will see how many times your hotspot dot is clicked on and how many times the Attached text or Modal that appears after the hotspot was opened is clicked on.
In the Analytics page, you see a line item named the same as your hotspot in the Screen Editor. The metric associated with this line item demonstrates how many times the Hotspot dot was clicked on.
A second line displays how many times the Attached text or Modal that appears after the hotspot was opened was clicked on. This represents the number of times a user clicks within the clickable portion of the Attached blurb or the Modal itself.
