Outcome Splits

Edited

Outcomes are a great way to personalize an experience by directing users to the most relevant product or content recommendation, based on how they respond to your questions. While our Standard Outcomes menu gives you tons of dynamic customization options, you can go even further by adding an Outcome Split into your user flow.

Step by Step Guide

  1. Make sure all of your Outcomes are created first.

  2. From the Builder Map, click on an open node, and then select 'Split Traffic' from the menu that appears. The easiest way to do this is to remove any screens connected after the Lead Capture screen and then click on the open node from there.

  3. Select the 'Outcomes' option. You will see all of your Outcomes listed on screen once you do. Each of these Outcomes will turn into a branch in the Builder Map.

  1. Click on the 'Save' button in the upper right corner to be brought back to the Builder Map.

  2. You will see a branch for each Outcome off of the Outcome Split in the Builder Map. When a user makes it to the Outcome Split in your user flow, we will direct them down the correct branch based on how you set your Outcome Logic.

  3. The easiest way to add content to your Outcome Split is to start by adding a screen to one of the branches off of your Outcome Split. Make sure that the name of the screen matches the branch that it is connected to for ease of reference later on.

  4. Style the screen exactly as you'd like it to look for all users who are matched to that Outcome and sent down that branch.

  5. When you are ready to move onto styling the next screen off of your Outcome Split, simply copy the screen that you have already built and paste it onto another branch from your split.

  6. After you have pasted the screen onto the next branch, be sure to rename it so the new screen's name matches the branch that it is connected to. Swap out the content on the screen as needed.

  7. Continue this process until there is a screen attached to each branch off of your Outcome Split, all of your screen name's match the branches that they are connected to, and all of the content on each screen is relevant to the specific Outcome. That's all there is to it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is a good time to use an Outcome Split?

A: Outcome Splits are great if you want to customize design elements for an Outcome beyond what our Standard Outcomes menu offers. For example, if you want to show a product image and a product video for each Outcome, then you will need to use an Outcome Split to accomplish this.

Q: I have over 10 Outcomes, is it okay to use an Outcome Split?
A: We recommend using an Outcome Split when the amount of Outcomes that you have is on the smaller side, closer to 10 or less. We have seen customers with more Outcomes use Outcome Splits, but keep in mind, the process to manage your Outcome Split becomes more tedious and challenging as the number of Outcomes in your experience increases.

Q: The content of the screen in the Builder Map does not match the branch that it is connected to.

A: If you are using some dynamic outcome elements on screens off of your Outcome Split, then the preview of that screen from the Builder Map may appear incorrect. That is because we randomly generate styling to dynamic elements when screens are viewed in the Builder Map flow. Rest assured that users will be matched to the correct Outcome based on your Outcome Logic. The best way to test your Outcome Split is to click on 'Preview' from the Builder Map and see for yourself.
